women’s health still matters

the top things to know in women’s health and wellness today:

  • Donald Trump was re-elected in a resounding victory, despite his previous administration leading to abortion bans that have killed several women. The Guttmacher Institute and the Center for Reproductive Rights explain what a Trump 2.0 administration could mean for reproductive rights. (And don’t forget the Trump White House will have influence on research funding for everything from menopause to postpartum depression.)

  • Abortion ballot measures passed in seven out of the 10 states that had them on the ballot. The New York Times breaks down how the results will change abortion access in each state.

    • The most notable victory was in Missouri, where voters removed a full ban on abortion and made the procedure legal.

    • The biggest loss was in Florida, where an amendment to undo the state’s six-week abortion ban fell just three points short of the 60% needed to pass.
