good money, bad government

the trends we spotted this week that matter most to women’s health:

💉 Clownery continued. The Trump administration managed to cut some IVF drug prices in the same week that they gutted the federal office that provides fertility care to low-income women. This comes after they froze dozens of grants focused on infertility earlier this year. It’s not governance, it’s chaos.

💸 Follow the money. A $60 billion women’s health fund could finally do what a thousand seed rounds couldn’t: build an actual market. And big money makes women’s health harder to ignore.

🧠 The long game of discovery. Researchers are finally able to probe how menopause reshapes the brain at the cellular and molecular level—work that until now was out of reach because human brain tissue and biomarkers weren’t mapped for this transition. It’s overdue, but now it may start informing treatments that are more precise than hormone replacement alone.
