What: A study in JAMA discovered that in states that banned abortion, fertility rates increased by 1.7%, but this increase was coupled with a 6% rise in infant mortality rates. In particular, Black and other minority women experienced the largest increases in both fertility and infant deaths, with infant mortality nearly 11% higher among Black babies.
